Festival
Festivals are some of the most important Technologies available to discover, and can only be discovered at certain fixed points. After a certain number of other Technologies is discovered, a Festival Inspiration will appear above the Hearth and your Thinker will automatically return to it (if not commanded to do otherwise). Only four Festivals are available to discover during each Challenge: three unique to each Thinker, and one Festival that will complete the Challenge.
Types of Festivals
There are two types of Festivals: Thinker Festivals and Challenge Festivals. Thinker Festivals are only available to one specific Thinker, and cannot be used by any other Thinker (other than Serrano's B-side). Challenge Festivals will appear as the goal Festival of a Challenge. One will be added to the list of three Thinker Festivals unique to your chosen Thinker.
List of Festivals
Amnesia Coffer
A large chest filled with amnesia incense making enemies forget what they were doing.
— Kainga Encyclopedia
This Festival has similar effects to the Jar of Amnesia, but can be reused many times and does not require Ceramics to be built. It's advised to build this Festival in a direction toward potential attacks, since it can be interrupted through combat like any other Festival.
Amnesia: This powerful gas causes everyone in the area to forget what they are doing and return to their home towns.
Permanent: This Festival can be used multiple times without being rebuilt. |
Balloon Call
Send signals to an old friend to call a balloon to your location.
— Kainga Encyclopedia
The Balloon Call is a useful Festival for Garam B, which tends to focus less on combat and more on other means of success, like trading. If the only Movement Technology that's been taken doesn't allow for vertical movement, Balloon Call brings a Lanna Balloon down for use without needing to construct a Dock.
Summon a Balloon: Call a balloon to descend from the sky. |
Bamboo Telescope
Steal a Technology from a neighboring town, including their Thinker's memories.
— Kainga Encyclopedia
The Bamboo Telescope is intended to be used to take Inspiration and Ideas from neighboring villages. It can be placed anywhere outside opponent claimed territory (even outside your own territory), and will automatically orient to face toward the nearest Hearth.
At the time of writing, Bamboo Telescope does not work and will always result in a warning message.
Memory Harvest: Place near an unsuspecting enemy to steal their Technologies! |
Bannered Grove
Creates a forest between banners along the cliffs; the more banners, the larger the forest.
— Kainga Encyclopedia
A Bannered Grove is a fairly reliable way of growing more Trees to harvest Logs from, particularly in Biomes that lack many trees (such as The Flatlands).
Miracle of Trees: Grows an abundance of trees in the area.
Permanent: This Festival can be used multiple times without being rebuilt. |
Beast Spirit House
This Festival will respawn Jeera if placed on Kala and can also awaken crustaceans.
— Kainga Encyclopedia
The Beast Spirit House can be used in two different ways. If it is placed onto Kala (while Jeera is banished), it will respawn Jeera, significantly improving Kala's chances of survival. If it's placed onto the ground, it will instead locate the nearest Crustacean and place a Spirit House atop it. If the Festival is rebuilt at that location, it will cause the Crustacean to awaken and rampage across the Biome.
Conditional Thinker Placement: This structure may be placed onto Kala, modifying its reward.
Respawn Jeera: If placed on Kala, this Festival will respawn Jeera.
Awaken Crustacean: If placed on an existing Spirit House, it will awaken the Crustacean buried below! |
Blessed Scaffolding
Setup scaffolding which creates the resources needed to complete a specific structure.
— Kainga Encyclopedia
Blessed Scaffolding almost entirely eliminates the need to collect resources (besides Bamboo), making it very useful to complete large structures or structures that require exotic Materials.
Complete Structure: Completely builds a structure, no matter what resources are needed.
Placed on Structure: Can only be placed on top of another structure. |

Conditional Hearth Attachment: This structure may be placed over your Hearth and will block further Hearth attachments, if you choose to.
Fertilizing Air: Crops become fully grown.
Miracle of Reeds: Grows an abundance of Reeds in the area. |
